What is the Queensland Government Skills Assure User Choice Program?

The Queensland Government Skills Assure User Choice 2020-21 program provides a public funding contribution towards the cost of training and assessment for eligible Queensland apprentices and trainees.
The program provides flexibility for apprentices, trainees and their employers, enabling them to select a preferred registered training organisation (RTO) from a list of pre-qualified suppliers (PQS) for the delivery of accredited training to meet their specific needs.

Certain eligibility requirements must be met, such as being a Queensland resident and being employed on a permanent basis (i.e. not casual) during the period of your training.

How do I participate?

Select a qualification that interests you and contact your preferred RTO. They will work with you, your employer and an employer selected ANP (Apprenticeship Network Provider), to help you become an apprentice or trainee.
Visit the Queensland Skills Gateway to choose a qualification, learn about the training available and select from the list of training providers that can assist you.

Obviously we would recommend contacting Axxis Industry Qualifications for prompt, quality service and training.

Which apprenticeships and traineeships are funded under Skills Assure User Choice?

Not all apprenticeships and traineeships attract government funding. Funding is prioritised according to the skills needs of specific industries.
Refer to the Department of Education, Small Business and Training Skills Assure User Choice funding webpage more information.

In Queensland, mandatory student fees based on nominal training hours, are payable under the Skills Assure User Choice funding program. Please call for details, as nominal hours vary according to elective unit selections.

Will my previous experience be recognised?

Absolutely, but sufficient evidence must be available to justify your claim for Recognition of Prior Learning. Your trainer/assessor will assist you with this process.

What is the Queensland Government Skills Assure Certificate 3 Guarantee?

The Queensland Government's Skills Assure Certificate 3 Guarantee funding program, supports eligible individuals to complete their first post-school Certificate III qualification. It also supports school students and Queensland resident Year 12 graduates in their transition to employment, by providing highly subsidised training in  priority qualifications.

What training is available?

The Skills Assure Certificate 3 Guarantee program is targeted at Certificate III qualifications as this is considered the entry-level qualification often needed to gain employment in many industry sectors.
Foundation skills and lower level vocational qualifications (i.e. Certificate II) may also be delivered based on the learning needs of the student and industry pathways. For more information, including eligibility requirements, refer to the Queensland Department of Education, Small Business and Training for the Skills Assure Certificate 3 Guarantee Program Policy.

Visit the Queensland Skills Gateway to choose a qualification, learn about the training available and select from the list of training providers that can assist you.

Obviously we would recommend contacting Axxis Industry Qualifications for prompt, quality service and training.

How does the program work?

Skills Assure Certificate 3 Guarantee funding is normally conducted in a classroom situation.  As each unit of training is delivered, this is reported to the Department of Education, Small Business and Training and the subsidy is then paid directly to the pre-approved RTO.
