This qualification reflects the role of those working in civil construction supervisory positions. These persons may be involved in a broad range of  complex and non-routine activities including provision of leadership and guidance to others including the responsibility for the quantity and quality of their output. They will apply management plans in the workplace, often contributing to the development of technical solutions to problems as they arise.

The qualification reflects the role of those who apply a broad knowledge base and well developed skills in a wide variety of contexts and may include managers, foremen, leading hands, supervisors and facilitators.
